Discovery is seeking an intermediate Java Developer to join their Health Benefit Solutions System team. The role involves working on new projects and product enhancements to improve business inefficiencies and gain a competitive advantage. The Java Developer will work with Business Analysts, System Architects, and managers to design and implement system solutions. The role requires strong communication, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities. The ideal candidate should have a BSc Computer Science degree, 3+ source code Java development experience, and experience in DevOps, Linux, and containerization virtual systems.

Responsibilities

• Part of the team in distinguishing between business, functional and non-functional requirements and how to implement them
• Deliver high quality source code and the technologies used and the systems components structure
• Develop, test, and maintain the deployed application software with high quality
• Analyse, maintain and enhance existing application and troubleshoot issues with efficiency
• Perform accurate development estimation

Qualifications

• BSc Computer Science or equivalent 3-year IT qualification 3+ source code Java (version 8) development experience
